<p>The rapid economic development and the high population densities of South Korea have built a number of high-rise apartment buildings. The increase in electricity consumption by residential sector, particularly in summer month, has been caused by the growing demand for air-conditioning systems to provide comfort for the occupants. Korea government has given a progressive tax in electric charges. Some units in high-rise apartment consumes 1700kWh in July and electric charges reaches up to 800,000won (800dollar) This paper describes an investigation of the effect of glazing type on both the summer required cooling energy and electric charges on high-rise apartment building in Pusan, Korea</p>
