<p>This paper sets out to understand the scope of public space design in vitalizing public spaces’ use in an inclusive way and evaluate currently available design guidelines to grasp an appropriate approach to design high-quality public space that is inviting and available to everyone. The ‘Design Seoul Guidelines’ were evaluated along with the issues taken from WHO’s and I’DGO’s guidelines. Additional points that this guideline did not cover were found, which was related to designing public spaces in a holistic, integrated, inclusive way that combines all physical, psychological, environmental, social, and economical concerns.</p>
