<p>Energy consumption of vehicles could be said the second large energy requirement aside from the industrial developments. An extremely large percentage (ca. 85%) vehicles consumed energy is converted to waste heat, i.e. invalid work. To improve working efficiency and to retrieve energy from the waste heat of vehicles are two essential topics in the 21st century. This work presents a dual purpose mechanical system built in roadways for capturing the waste energy of vehicles, which is internationally patented by the Taiwanese Yu-Chun green energy technology incorporated company. The developed dual purpose mechanical system consists of an instantaneous electric generation system integrated with idler for energy storage and an air electric generation system integrated with air compression system for energy storage as well as carbon dioxide filtering. An oil pressing system is built in the system for force transferring from vehicles to generators or to air compression system during vehicles running over the oil pressing pistons. A 2000kgf automobile runs over a piston and yields a 3cm stroke can offer ca. 2000×9.8×0.03 = 588joule energy. The developed system will be setup on the speed decreasing section of roadway and can retrieve waste energy larger than 50%.</p>
