<p>Agricultural waste called biomass which were mainly sunflower oil cake, cotton ginning residues, groundnut shell, laurel leaf and olive oil cake resources are quite extensive use. Also other types of biomass wastes such as animal manure, wood waste, forestry and forest industry waste, food and paper industry residues, municipal green residues, sewage sludge, the annual short-rotation trees (eucalyptus, poplar, willow), meadows, sugar crops (sugar cane, sugar beet, sorghum), starch crops (corn, wheat) and oil crops (soybean, sunflower, oil turnip, palm oil) as classified. Biomass-based these materials, both direct and/or indirect, biomass, biofuels as well as being used for energy production. Wood and other agricultural residues in the industry to produce steam and electricity cogeneration plant (CHP; combine heat power), fuel (or equivalent fuel) burned in, and also can be used in residential and commercial building heating. Turkey, a country dependent on foreign energy in the supply of biomass, including energy requirements met using indigenous resources is of great importance. As a result of agricultural and forestry production in Turkey, released mainly from agricultural and forestry wastes, animal wastes, consisting of farms, forestry and wood processing industry residues and municipal wastes released a total recoverable bio-energy potential is estimated to be approximately 16.92 Mtpe per year. On the other hand by the day of agricultural and forestry wastes create environmental problems. Sustainable development is an important part of life and sustainable environmental waste left over from agricultural activities, unfortunately, appears to be an important environmental issues. Solving environmental problems, they have this need to take advantage of the energy potential. Thus, agricultural wastes that have been created and solved problems, and these problems will be converted to be useful. Burning of agricultural waste without harming the environment and the most optimal and economical way to eliminate the process of gasification. Particularly gasification of biomass and solid wastes controlled air-solid sensible process of converting into syngas. Gasification, under the conditions of atmospheric, vacuum or pressure, occurs and produced CO and H2 is a mixture of so-called product syngas. By burning gas with clean air, clean energy are produced. Small-scale gasification plants scattered small settlements and an ideal choice for small power plants. Electricity generation and combined heat recovery plant, an extraordinary importance in the world has numerous applications. Gasification, gas engine or gas turbine component with the solid fuel energy directly into energy provides a method of covering. Gasification technology, combined heat power systems (CHP), production plants and integrated gasification combined cycle (IGCC) power plants is available. The gasification plant capable of flexible working, part of the gasification with oxygen in the environment and emissions in line with the appropriate features. The biomass gasification facilities present the most suitable technology for the environment. The gasification technologies do not use excess oxygen because reactions occur in partial oxygen environment. Thus, no problems are experienced particularly in effluent gas treatment processes. In comparison with incineration, the gasification technologies are more environmentally friendly and more advantageous in terms of CO2, SO2, NOx emissions. The sulfur is mostly present in H2S form which can be removed easier than SO2 or as raw sulfur. NOx, dioxin and furan do not cause problems during gasification. The gasification technologies provide the most appropriate parameters according to environmental criteria of EPA and EU. Since biomass can be used as fuel, they comply with Kyoto Protocol and Renewable Energy Act. Total biomass inputs in gasification system are defined as air and process water and total biomass outputs (wastes) are process water effluent, ash and dry gas. The environmental properties of the gasification technology can be summarized follows;  The cleanest and environmental friendly technology in terms of gases released to atmosphere,  The prevention of the CO2 gases may only be possible economically with gasification in long term in the framework of Kyoto Protocol,  The elimination of treatment solid waste with a very different fuel composition without harming the environment and providing additional value is again only possible with gasification,  Only a small amount of ash remains as solid waste. This ash is used in cement factories or in asphalt production.  The gasification facilities do not have water pollution problems. The purpose of this study was to determine the conversion possibility of the agricultural based industrial wastes in to clean energy as an alternative and renewable fuel in Turkey. For this reason, intense in the country (mainly to cotton and wheat), agricultural waste and forestry waste of energy as a product that will allow the assessment of plant / facilities to investigate of availibility. In this study, in order to determine the potential of renewable energy in agriculture and forestry waste for energy-producing sample will consist of a gasification plant syngaz amount, calculating the cost of renewable energy potential and the system, focuses on the importance of renewable energy. Contribution to development of biogas production plants in Turkey, maintaining competitiveness, the advantages provided by aspects of reduction of environmental problems, agricultural and forestry waste of electricity and heat production from the facilities will be established for the duration of repayment of the existing conditions were found to be short. Incentives provided by law to be installed plants and other renewable energy applications with gasification will return be much shorter periods determined by the analysis. The physical properties, calorific values, proximate analysis and ultimate analysis of biomass samples were also elaborated on. In this study, also a briquetting machine was used to briquette raw biomass waste materials. After first observation of biomass characteristics with the optimum characteristics of a plant feasibility studies are discussed for the waste to energy process using biomass. Additionally, the economic analysis of different power capacity from 1 to 5 MWel using by patented PRME fix bed gasification system with combined heat and power station will be set up for energy conversion of the residues Turkey was calculated and designed. The investment will become profitable at the economic analysis results were determined included feasibility studies, sensitivity analysis, net present value, internal rate of profitability, pay-back ratio, benefit/cost ratio, internal ratio etc. The cost of electricity produced from the power station by biomass gasification was calculated as quite reasonable for invesment at this moment in Turkey.</p>
