<p>Gas component produced from the landfill area of municipal wastes are mainly composed of CH4, CO2 . By selectively removing CO2, the landfill can be easily utilized for the on-site generation of electricity with gas engine or gas turbine. Landfill gas can be upgraded if incombustible CO2 can be selectively separate within the mixture of CH4 and CO2 with specially designed adsorbent. Present study is focused on the developing the CO2 adsorbent material which can be adsorbed selectively in the atmospheric condition of landfill gas. Especially, emphasis is laid on elevating CO2 adsorption performance through the ion-exchange of original Zeolite adsorbent. Ion-exchange reagents used during the experiments are 1 mol solution of NaCl, KCl, LiCl. CaCl2 Ion-exchanged adsorbents are examined with XRF, XRD and ICP to evaluate the compositional and structural change. Pre-treated adsorbent materials are experimented in the flow reactor with various temperature &amp; pressure condition. The results showed that Zeolite of ion-exchanged with NaCl showed the highest adsorption capacity. To enhance stability of adsorbent materials, Zeolite is also mixed with various binder to test the stability and pellet type CO2 adsorption performance.</p>
