<p>Through the observation and comparison, we find that many flower’s outlines are similarities with many solar concentrators. In order to obtain the new ideas to design new solar concentrator, some primary researches about the light concentrating characteristics of several flowers have been carried out in this paper. When the chapiter and stylus are regarded as focusing target, several flower-shaped concentrators were optically simulated with the optical software. The light numbers in target with the incident angle were analyzed. When the receptacle or ovary is regarded as focusing target, several flower-shaped light funnels were designed. Their optical characteristics were compared with CPC with same entrance size. The variation curves of light transmittance with incident angle were given. It can be found that many flowers have similar performances with CPC. Some of them have very wide incident angle. It is very suitable for flowers to concentrate the sunlight.</p>
