<p>Building integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV), are chain links between solar PV manufacturers, builders, architects and owners for building utilization of free sources of solar energy to minimize energy costs. Also there are some trends for BIPV approach with regards to energy saving and building construction methods. Moreover BIPV are tended to be versatile materials, designed for multi-functions affect whole aspects of design concept and process till construction including roof &amp; roof form, available surface area for solar radiation, opening sizes, material selection, orientation, energy demand, spatial quality, aesthetics view and architectural issues. Meanwhile PV in building renovation especially in old rector’s office is not the prior measure to reduce the high energy demand of the existing building stock. But, as part of a well-balanced renovation concept (thermal insulation, improved windows, improved ventilation system and solar collectors) it marks a further step towards sustainable office building. The main aim of this research is to promote the architectural-technical quality, developing and validating a new methodology for architectural-technical criteria to assess the feasibility of old and new rector office buildings of BIPV application for PV integration -especially on rooftop and façade to achieve the most percentage electricity production- and to analyze non-technical barriers to their introduction as an energy-significant option. A successful BIPV solution requires integration between building design and PV system design. Development of smart solar architecture will give rise to new technologies such as BIPV to these two Rector’s office buildings in Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU).</p>
