<p>Seasonal high capacity thermal energy storage is a novel technology using thermochemical materials to store the excessive solar heat gain during summer time to apply for heating in winter, which can not only avoid overheating in summer but also can reduce space heating cost in winter. Based upon this theoretical principle of the seasonal thermal energy storage, this paper presents a model on seasonal energy performance of a new built passive house (Nottingham House) for thermochemical materials energy storage. The Nottingham HOUSE is a zero-carbon modular home at the University of Nottingham, which is built following the world’s most stringent energy-saving house design codes of German passivhaus institute design and code 6 of UK for sustainable homes (zero carbon emission). EDSL TAS (www.edsl.net) is employed to this simulation. After simulation results are given and discussed, thermochemical materials and corresponding solar panel will be sized based on required space heating load by calculation and software respectively.</p>
