<p>Thermal energy storage (TES) is a promising advanced technology in addressing the problem of energy supply-demand in buildings. Thermochemical Heat Storage (THS) materials have approximately 6-10 times higher storage density than SHS (sensible heat storage), and two times higher than LHS (latent heat storage) materials when compared in terms of storage volume basis. Thus, THS systems are currently undergoing a surge in research and development. This paper presents a review of different types of thermochemical materials with the current state of the art is focusing on innovative salts mixtures as THS materials. From the review, the use of a salt mixture as a THS material is found promising.</p>
