<p>Energy-efficient buildings sometimes referred to as zero-energy or low-carbon buildings, are outfitted with energy-efficient technologies that responsibly use resources and materials throughout their existence. From this, the research challenge arises: The apparent ignorance of zero-energy building design concepts in Iraq along with the rise in the use of mechanical techniques for buildings. To address this apparent lack of knowledge, this study aims to: Address the apparent ignorance of Iraqi building designers on using thermal propulsion to build zero-energy structures in Iraq and identify cutting-edge tools and methods for building design that give architects the ability to construct buildings that optimise user thermal comfort while saving energy and improving the efficiency of interior environments. In this effort, a unique approach to optimising the under- and above-ground to air heat exchange system will be created using thermal propulsion. The inquiry will be conducted in Baghdad, Iraq, taking advantage of the climate and soil there. A parametric study for the influencing variables—such as length, diameter, soil characteristics, and air velocity—will be done using the heat exchanger system, by figuring out the specifications in the zone of the building using mathematical formulas. The methods used in the paper conclude that temperature changes in the air between 2 and 20 °C can be caused by the heat exchanger system. These numbers vary depending on the kind of soil, building requirements, and weather. Since thermal propulsion is used for both heating and ventilation, as well as cooling, electricity is not required for these tasks.</p>
