Updated October 10, 2025
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the services provided by Caravel Press, including our websites, applications, APIs, email notifications, and any related features or platforms (collectively, the “Services”). By accessing or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and to comply with all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Services. All content made available through the Services – including text, images, graphics, and other materials (“Content”) – is subject to these Terms.
1. Basic Terms
You are responsible for your use of the Services, for any content you post or submit through the Services, and for any consequences that result from such actions. The content you upload, publish, or display may be viewed by other users of the Services and through third-party platforms or services. You should only provide content that you are comfortable sharing publicly under these Terms.
You may use the Services only if you are able to form a legally binding contract with Caravel Press and are not prohibited from receiving services under the laws of your jurisdiction. If you are accepting these Terms on behalf of an organisation, institution, or other legal entity, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to do so. You agree to use the Services only in compliance with these Terms and with all applicable local, national, and international laws and regulations.
The Services provided by Caravel Press may change from time to time without prior notice. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services (temporarily or permanently) at our discretion. We may also impose limits on usage or storage without prior notice.
The Services may include limited forms of advertising, acknowledgements, or third-party integrations. The nature and extent of these may change over time. By using the Services, you agree that Caravel Press and its partners may display such content in connection with your use of the Services or published materials.
2. Privacy
Any information you provide to Caravel Press is subject to our Privacy Policy, which governs the collection, use, and protection of your personal data. By using our Services, you consent to the processing of your information as described in that policy, including its storage and use in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
As part of providing the Services, we may occasionally send you important communications, such as service announcements or administrative messages. These communications form part of the core functionality of the Services and your Caravel Press account, and you may not be able to opt out of receiving them.
3. Passwords
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of the password used to access the Services and for all activities that occur under your account. We strongly encourage the use of strong passwords, combining upper and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols, to help protect your account.
Caravel Press cannot and will not be held liable for any loss or damage resulting from your failure to safeguard your password or account credentials.
4. Content on the Services
All content, whether publicly posted or privately transmitted, is the sole responsibility of the person or entity that originated it. Caravel Press does not actively monitor or control content submitted through the Services and cannot take responsibility for any such content. Your use of, or reliance on, any content or materials available through the Services is entirely at your own risk.
We do not endorse, support, or guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any content or communications posted through the Services, nor do we endorse any opinions expressed within them. By using the Services, you acknowledge that you may encounter content that is inaccurate, misleading, or otherwise inappropriate.
Under no circumstances will Caravel Press be liable for any content, including, but not limited to, errors or omissions, or for any loss or damage of any kind resulting from the use of, or reliance on, any content posted, emailed, transmitted, or otherwise made available through the Services.
5. Your Rights
You retain all rights to any content you submit, post, or display on or through the Services. By submitting, posting, or displaying content through the Services, you grant Caravel Press a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence (with the right to sublicense) to use, reproduce, process, adapt, modify, publish, transmit, display, and distribute such content in any media or format, whether existing now or developed in the future.
This licence allows Caravel Press to operate, promote, and improve the Services and to make submitted content available to third parties, such as indexing or distribution partners, in accordance with our publishing and access policies.
These uses may occur without compensation to you for content that you submit, post, or otherwise make available through the Services.
We may modify or adapt your content as necessary to transmit, display, distribute, or publish it across different networks, media, and formats, or to meet technical or stylistic requirements.
You are solely responsible for the content you provide and for any consequences arising from its use, including use by other users or third-party partners. You represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights, permissions, and authority to grant Caravel Press the rights described in these Terms. Caravel Press is not responsible or liable for any use of your content that is made in accordance with these Terms.
6. Your License to Use the Services
Caravel Press grants you a personal, worldwide, royalty-free, non-transferable, and non-exclusive licence to use the software and systems provided as part of the Services.
This licence is granted solely for the purpose of enabling you to access and benefit from the Services as provided by Caravel Press, in accordance with these Terms and all applicable laws.
7. Caravel Press Rights
All rights, title, and interest in and to the Services (excluding content provided by users) are and will remain the exclusive property of Caravel Press and its licensors. The Services are protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable laws.
Nothing in these Terms grants you the right to use the Caravel Press name, trademarks, logos, domain names, or other distinctive brand features without prior written permission.
Any feedback, comments, or suggestions you provide regarding Caravel Press or the Services are entirely voluntary. We may use such feedback, comments, or suggestions freely and without any obligation to you.
8. Restrictions on Content and Use of the Services
We reserve the right at all times (though not the obligation) to remove or refuse to distribute any content on the Services, to suspend or terminate user accounts, and to reclaim usernames without liability to you.
We also reserve the right to access, read, preserve, and disclose any information we reasonably believe is necessary to:

(v) protect the rights, property, or safety of Caravel Press, its users, and the public.
You agree that you will not, while accessing or using the Services:
(i) access, tamper with, or use non-public areas of the Services, Caravel Press’s systems, or the technical infrastructure of its service providers;
(ii) probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of any system or network or breach or circumvent any security or authentication measures;
(iii) access or search the Services by any means other than through the publicly available interfaces provided by Caravel Press, unless expressly authorised in writing;
(iv) use automated systems (including crawlers or scrapers) to collect data from the Services without prior written consent, except where permitted by the provisions of the robots.txt file;
(v) forge any TCP/IP packet header or part of the header information in any email or posting, or use the Services to send altered, deceptive, or false information; or
(vi) interfere with or disrupt (or attempt to interfere with or disrupt) any user, host, or network, including sending viruses, overloading, flooding, spamming, or scripting the creation of content in a way that burdens or impairs the Services.
9. Copyright Policy
Caravel Press respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users of the Services to do the same. We will respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with applicable law and are properly submitted to us.
If you believe that your content has been copied or used in a way that constitutes copyright infringement, please provide us with the following information:
(i) a physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf;
(ii) identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed;
(iii) identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing or the subject of infringing activity, including sufficient detail for us to locate the material;
(iv) your contact information, including your full name, address, telephone number, and email address;
(v) a statement that you have a good faith belief that the use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; and

We reserve the right to remove or disable access to content alleged to be infringing without prior notice, at our sole discretion, and without liability. In appropriate cases, Caravel Press may also terminate the accounts of users who are determined to be repeat infringers.

10. Ending These Terms
These Terms will remain in effect until terminated by either you or Caravel Press as outlined below.
You may end your agreement with Caravel Press at any time and for any reason by deactivating your account(s) and discontinuing use of the Services. You are not required to specifically notify us when you stop using the Services. However, if you stop using the Services without deactivating your account, your account may be deactivated due to prolonged inactivity.
We may suspend or terminate your account(s) or stop providing all or part of the Services at any time for any reason, including, but not limited to, situations where we reasonably believe that:
(i) you have violated these Terms;
(ii) your actions create risk or potential legal exposure for us; or
(iii) the provision of the Services to you is no longer commercially viable.
Where possible, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you using the email address associated with your account or the next time you attempt to access your account.
Upon termination, these Terms will cease to apply, including your license to use the Services, except that the following sections will continue to remain in effect: 4, 5, 7, 8, 10, 11, and 12.
Nothing in this section limits Caravel Press’s right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Services at any time, as described in Section 1.
11. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability
Please read this section carefully as it limits the liability of Caravel Press and its parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, related entities, officers, directors, employees, agents, representatives, partners, and licensors (collectively, the “Caravel Press Entities”). Each subsection applies only to the maximum extent permitted under applicable law. Some jurisdictions do not allow disclaimers of implied warranties or limitations of liability in contracts, so certain provisions in this section may not apply to you. Nothing in this section is intended to limit any rights that cannot lawfully be limited.
A. The Services are Available “AS-IS”
Your access to and use of the Services, or any content provided through the Services, is at your own risk. You acknowledge and agree that the Services are provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Caravel Press Entities disclaim all warranties and conditions, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
The Caravel Press Entities make no representations and assume no responsibility for:
(i) the completeness, accuracy, availability, timeliness, security, or reliability of the Services or any content;
(ii) any harm to your computer system, loss of data, or other damage resulting from your access to or use of the Services or content;
(iii) the deletion, failure to store, or failure to transmit any content or communications maintained through the Services; or
(iv) whether the Services will meet your requirements or be available uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
No advice or information, whether oral or written, obtained from the Caravel Press Entities or through the Services will create any warranty not expressly stated in these Terms.
B. Links
The Services may include links to third-party websites or resources. You acknowledge and agree that the Caravel Press Entities are not responsible or liable for:
(i) the availability or accuracy of such websites or resources; or
(ii) the content, products, or services offered on or through such websites or resources.
The inclusion of any links does not imply endorsement by the Caravel Press Entities of those websites, resources, or their content, products, or services. You accept sole responsibility for, and assume all risks arising from, your use of any third-party websites or resources.
C. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, CARAVEL PRESS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUE, WHETHER DIRECT OR INDIRECT, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING FROM:
(i) your access to, use of, or inability to access or use the Services;
(ii) any conduct or content of any third party on the Services, including, without limitation, any defamatory, offensive, or illegal conduct of other users or third parties;
(iii) any content obtained from the Services; or
(iv) unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content.

These limitations apply regardless of the theory of liability, whether based on warranty, contract, statute, tort (including negligence), or otherwise, and whether or not the Caravel Press Entities were informed of the possibility of such damages, even if any remedy provided herein is found to have failed of its essential purpose.
12. General Terms
A. Waiver and Severability
The failure of Caravel Press to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not be considered a waiver of that right or provision. If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
B. Controlling Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms, and any disputes or claims arising out of or related to them, shall be governed by the laws of the United Kingdom, without regard to its conflict of law provisions or your country of residence. All claims, legal proceedings, or litigation relating to the Services must be brought exclusively in the courts of the United Kingdom, and you consent to the jurisdiction and venue of such courts and waive any objection to inconvenient forum.
If you are a federal, state, or local government entity in the United States using the Services in an official capacity and are legally unable to accept the governing law, jurisdiction, or venue clauses above, those clauses do not apply. For such U.S. federal government entities, these Terms and any related actions shall be governed by the laws of the United States (without reference to conflict of laws) and, to the extent permitted under federal law, the laws of the State of California (excluding choice of law rules).
C. Entire Agreement
These Terms and our Privacy Policy constitute the entire and exclusive agreement between Caravel Press and you regarding the Services (excluding any services for which you have a separate agreement with Caravel Press that explicitly supplements or replaces these Terms).
