After acceptance

What happens between acceptance and publication, and what you can do afterwards.

Production

  1. Copyediting

    Your paper is prepared for publication: structure, references, figures and tables are checked and typeset. You will be asked to confirm the front matter, the author list and the declarations.

  2. Proof

    You receive a proof and approve it. Corrections at proof stage are for errors, not for new results. Proofs come from [email protected], which is also where to reply.

  3. Publication

    The article is published with a DOI registered at Crossref, together with its full reference list, its licence, and every author's ORCID iD.

What you get

  • A permanent DOI that will resolve for as long as the DOI system exists.
  • A typeset PDF and a full-text web version.
  • Its details sent to indexes and archives as soon as it is published.

What you may do with it

Anything you like. You keep the copyright, and the published version is open access under CC BY 4.0. Deposit it, teach from it, translate it, put it on your own site. You may deposit any version, straight away. See the repository policy.
