Abstract
This paper analyzes the energy consumption situations of heating sanitary water in various buildings and the insurmountable shortcoming of inefficient energy consumption of the conventional water heaters, and investigates the progress and problems of developing heat pump water heaters. It is pointed out that deepening development of heat pump water heaters is one of the efficient approaches to improve the energy efficiency of sanitary hot water.
