The great majority of existing buildings needing thermal rehabilitation is represented in Romania by the residential multi-storied blocks of flats. A typical such building is chosen and analysed by using the inverse auditing modelling of its energy performance. The entire building stock structure is then reviewed in order to assess the national potential from similar buildings. The energy savings are converted to GHG emission reduction at the energy production units, assessing thus the energy waste influence on the environment.
