Abstract

This document describes the rehabilitation of the General Secretariat Information Systems (GSIS office building) in Athens (Greece) and the description of the energy measures that were implemented aiming at the improvement of the building energy performance and the indoor environmental conditions.. The rehabilitation of the GSIS building was carried out within the frames of the European ‘REVIVAL’ project (Retrofitting for Environmental Viability Improvement of Valued Architectural landmarks) that was financially supported by the European Commission under the 5th Framework ‘ENERGIE’ Programme and had a duration from April 203 to April 2008. The overall goal of the project was the refurbishment of non-domestic buildings from the post-war pre-energy conscious era, aiming at better energy performance and lower life-cycle CO2 emissions than the original building or an equivalent new building.

Keywords. Energy rehabilitation; demand control ventilation; comfort; monitoring
