Electric arc furnaces are used to make steel from scrap iron in steel industry. Nowadays, the aim of more researches in this area is to increase efficiency of furnace and it’s compatibility with environment. One of the methods to achieve these purposes is control of the off-gas system, such as relative pressure in furnace, CO content in off-gas and off-gas temperature. Relative pressure in furnace would be kept negative in furnace because the combustion gases inside the furnace must not leak into the plant environment. However to prevent energy loosing, the amount of this negative number must be small. A filter system is putted in the off-gas duct, In order to prevent the entrance of dust to the atmosphere. This filter system is sensitive to the high percent of carbon monoxide (CO) in off-gas and high temperature of off-gas. In this paper, new intelligent control method named fuzzy emotional control, applied to off-gas system and its results are compared to the other methods.
