A novel dual-function solar collector with L-shaped fins and tube structure is presented. Air or water could be heated by it in correspondence with the variation of seasons or under different applications. In this paper, its air heating performance is investigated experimentally. An experimental system was set up and whole-day experiments were operated to investigate its performance. The experimental results indicate that the thermal efficiency reaches over 55% in air heating mode, which is much higher than conventional flat plane air heater.
