Abstract

The new CDQ (Cool Dry Quiet) wheel breaks the dew point barrier by using an innovative new desiccant. If it works with a standard air handling unit, three benefits are expected: 20%- 200% improvement in dehumidification, 2.7- 8.3 °C lower dew point or 20%- 80% reduction in reheat and cooling energy. The dehumidification principle, typical components, performance, control method, application of the CDQ are discussed.

Keywords. breaking dewpoint barrier; independent humidity control; low reheat
