Abstract

The object of this study is minimizing the energy used on the stenter at the coloring-finishing department, which is one of the most energy consuming departments of an energy-intensive sector, the textile industry. The stenter is used for drying, finishing and fixing operations, and operates with convection drying method. Experiments were conducted on different types of fabric by minimizing the air flow rate used for performance of these processes. The requirements of these experimental studies were no reduction in production quantity is no corruption in quality.
