Abstract

Sites for wind energy harnessing involve colossal amount of investment in the form of money, manpower and time. In order to assess such investments before hand, viability of such sites is to be assessed. This paper narrates the attempt that has been made to formulate and solve this “viability” problem in multi criteria evaluation (MCE) environment. Various criteria that affect the “viability” are identified and defined. Identified that fuzzy logic rule based MCE technique may be useful to solve such problem. A model that uses fuzzy logic toolbox of MATLAB is suggested to evaluate the viability of a site for wind energy harnessing.
