Abstract

A new type of the centralized high temperature solar energy collecting system has been developed. Its operating principle has been introduced. The factors that influence the efficiency of the system have been analyzed. The system has some characteristics as following: Many light funnels and light deflectors could buildup an array of the solar energy concentrator. Every concentrator could gather the low density sunlight into a parallel light beam with high density, and then the light beam is transmitted to the central receiver by the light deflector. In this way, the central receiver gains an energy-flow of high density and high temperature. The central receiver of this system needs not to be installed on a high tower, and all light funnels obey the same tracking tactic, which is much easily implementary and greatly cost-economized than the solar tower. Based on the theoretical analysis, a practical system for experiment was built up. Some tests had been carried through in real weather condition, and the function relationship between the energy density on the receiver surface and the distance from the reflector to the receiver was given out. Therefore, the means of optimization to balancing the inlet width of light funnel and the distance of receiver was concluded.
