Abstract

In order to analysis the feasibility and efficiency of a small scale steam ejector cooling system, a 0.5kW cooling capacity steam ejector system was constructed and tested under boiler temperature in the range 115°C to 130°C, and evaporator temperature in the range of 5°C to 10°C. System performances under different operating conditions including various boiler temperatures, evaporator temperatures and condenser pressures, were tested and reported. The effects of nozzle exit position on ejector performance were analyzed. Performance maps, useful for design and application were also presented. The results of both theoretical simulation and experimental study were compared and analyzed. The experimental data were found to be around 85% of the theoretical values.
