Abstract

The northern chill region is an important agricultural base of China. Currently, the increment of rural houses in chill region is huge. But the construction of the rural housing lacks scientific research and guidance. The uncontrolled construction and consumption of resources result in low quality of buildings, resources and energy shortage and ecological environment destruction. So it is urgent to build up a proper green evaluation system to direct the design of rural housing, in order to increase the rural living quality and to decrease negative impacts of constructions on local environment and resources. Based on the comprehensive analysis of the current evaluation methods, we choose analytic hierarchy process (AHP) as the basic research method of green rural housing assessment model. By field survey, questionnaire methods, numeral theories, hierarchical analysis, and evaluating the structure and weighting standard of indicators, this paper proposes an evaluation model of green rural housing in chill region of China. It also develops a supporting evaluation tool (RHEA-Tool), as the direction and reference of green rural housing design for correlating personnel and departments.
