A method for ice slurry production based on LiBr absorption driven by low grade heat was proposed in the paper. The system based on this method could produce ice slurry with particular auxiliary components and an evaporimeter transformed into ice slurry production module. The theoretical analysis verified the feasibility of ice slurry production based on the LiBr absorption, and the effect of key parameters on the performance on the system was discussed. Compared with conventional method of ice slurry production in the vacuum chamber, the energy consumption of the novel system is reduced and vacuum is kept more easily, due to more effective utilization of low grade heat with the temperature below 100°C.
