This research aims at designing strategic planning for alternative energy in the marginal villages in Indonesia and reducing the research variables to be dominant factors. The research variables are internal and external environment variables. The internal variables consist of strengths and weaknesses while the external ones consist of opportunities and threats variables. Strength variables include outbound logistic, operation, inbound logistic, marketing and sales, and services. Meanwhile, weakness variables include firm infrastructure, human resource management, development of technology, and procurement. The external environment variables include technology, demographic and economic trends, political and legal environment, socio-cultural environment, and global environment. The respondents of this research are the regulators, the producers, the end-users, and farmers. This research applies quantitative and qualitative approaches or mixed methods. The number of respondents is 113 people and 15 participants with 15 research variables and is reduced by using Factor Analysis. The finding of this research reveals, the more we use of strong informal leaders, government financial supports, the regulation improvements, and environmentally friendly processing technologies, the higher the capacity of bio-energy production or wealth creation.
