M4U – Milano Smart District: Toward zero management cost smart district in Milan

The paradigm of the traditional real estate development model needs to radically change. The new focus should be on the content and services, the digital and knowledge technology radically transform the "home product". The 4 main purposes to the project are: • District & City “toward zero management cost” by considerably reducing energy, finalized to direct and maintenance costs of buildings and revenues from platform of data management; • Safer living condition: Innovative Solutions for security and surveillance, for health and wellbeing and for saving water & energy; • A wide range of services to improve the quality of living and to reduce its cost: • Green & efficient mobility: electric mobility and car and bike sharing, platform of shared services (baby sitter, servant, cleaning services, etc.), buying Groups organized by the community (agreements with supermarkets, sporting clubs, tour operators, insurance companies, etc.) and digital platform to interact within the community, with p.a. and public utilities • New jobs and more attractive and suitable working conditions: a context and an infrastructure to attract innovative start-ups, fab-lab, designer and new professions linked to digitalisation an environment to facilitate smart working and all forms of decontextualized jobs. The concept and design of Milano 4 You (M4U) integrates the property, digital, energy and social sectors with the aim of applying innovative solutions to issues such as air pollution and high-energy management costs, in order to offer improved transport, a cleaner urban environment and lower energy management costs. Sustainability is the cornerstone of M4U. The aim is to develop a project that combines environmental, economic and social sustainability also by creating the conditions for developing an active community.
