Abstract

Energy production and consumption are increasing rapidly in the world due to increasing of population and industrialization. Energy is provided convenience to humanity but it is disturbed the consumers the effect of pollution environment of the old technologies and increase of the cost in the production. Thus, the people focus their work to search the new energy sources. In this context, solar energy in renewable energy sources has been the subject of most research. Photovoltaic (PV) technology with development of material science has been among the indispensable of solar energy in recent years. The main purpose of this work is to increase the efficiency by reducing the surface temperature of the photovoltaic panels. In the experiments, two polycrystalline panels were used in 75 W power. Other panel is blank while an integrated panel porous fins. The energy and exergy efficiencies of the PV+FIN and PV panels in the same solar radiation are 10.71%, 9.18% and 9.69%, 7.92%, respectively. In addition to a maximum temperature difference of 4°C was created between the finned panel and the non-finned panel surface temperatures.

Keywords. Photovoltaic; energy; exergy; power; cooling
