Abstract

Depending on the developments in the industrial world and increasing world population, global energy demand is increasing. Besides, the ending of existing energy sources has directed the studies to renewable energy sources. The availability of renewable energy sources is not continuous and the imbalance of the supply and demand brings an obstacle for usage of these sources. That is why today's use of thermal energy storage systems is becoming widespread, providing storage of heat from sources such as solar energy or waste heat storage and use as needed. In addition, due to the low cost and high efficiency it provides increase in the demand for thermal energy storage systems. Thermal energy storage is regarded as a promising technology in renewable energy systems. In this context thermochemical heat storage is getting an increasing attention in the last decade due to its high energy storage density and low heat losses. In this paper, we used different chemical concentration of high energy density storage salts with honeycomb filter form via vacuum impregnation method to be used for low temperature thermochemical heat storage system. Salt-impregnated honeycomb filter forms produced for use in thermal storage systems. This structures that containing nano sized pores were sucked up with high energy density salts under vacuum. It is intended to improve the system's heat storage capability. In addition thermal properties were investigated for comparison of the produced sample performances.
