Abstract
With developing technology and increasing opportunities, the energy demands of both countries and individual users are increasing day by day. As a result of increased energy production to meet this growing demand, environmental pollution is also becoming a significant problem. In order to overcome this problem, countries are trying to reduce environmental pollution by signing new protocols. One of the best measures that can be taken for this purpose is to reduce carbon emissions by reducing the proportion of fossil fuels used in energy production stages. On the other hand, by constructing buildings (which are responsible for a large part of global energy consumption) with more efficient materials, efficient use of energy resources could be achieved, thus reducing carbon emissions. New generation buildings are expected to provide thermal, acoustic and visual comfort as well as meet the need for shelter. For this purpose, glass products are widely used in buildings today. However, heat losses and gains and light transmittance caused by glass, which is frequently used in building coating applications as well as being used in window areas due to their superior optical and mechanical properties, have negative effects on the energy consumption of buildings. In order to overcome this problem, researchers are working on new generation smart glass technologies and smart glass applications are being used at an increasing rate today. With the use of these smart glass applications, in addition to providing economic and social benefits to the users, carbon emissions are also reduced as a result of the efficient use of energy resources.
