Six energy retrofit scenarios of an apartment building enclosure in Bologna (North-Centre Italy) are studied. The economic analysis shows that the payback time ranges from 13 to 19 years if the full intervention cost is considered, while it ranges from 3 to 5 years if only the insulation cost is considered. The energy payback time ranges from 1 to 1.3 years.
