Abstract

The system described in this paper will be installed at an operating building in Mazunte, Mexico. The building is a Cosmetic Factory built by the NGO Bioplaneta. In the laboratory of the factory, operators work under strenuous conditions due to the fact that there is no ventilation and they need to be completely covered for sanitary reasons, which increase the temperature considerably adding up to an already high ambient temperature. This paper describes the design and assembly of a 7 kW cooling ejector cycle unit that will be used to condition the space described above. The air conditioning device will operate with a 20 kW evacuated heat pipe solar collectors system. Operating conditions for the unit include an ejector inlet temperature of 110°C, a condensing temperature of 28°C and an evaporator temperature of 10°C. Computer simulations were conducted. A COP of 0.67 could be achieved.
