Abstract

The series experiment works have been done with single crystalline silicon solar cell array, polysilicon solar cell array, Super cell array and GaAs cell array through the trough concentrating PV/T system. The experimental results show that the I-V curve of the crystalline silicon, polysilicon and Super cell arrays are linear in concentrating solar irradiance, which leads the drop of efficiency and the decrease of output power. However the I-V curve of GaAs cell array is very good in the concentrating solar irradiance, the efficiency of GaAs cell array increases from 23.66%to26.50%, the output of GaAs magnifies 12 times. So it is considerable to improve the efficiency if the GaAs cell has been adopted in the concentrating PV/T system. The temperature coefficients of Pm, FF andηof GaAs cell array are -0.12W/K、-0.10%/K、-0.21%/K.In order to keep better efficiency, the forced cooling must be applied. At the same time, the quantity of heat can been recovered for domestic using. All those work are benefits to further study in improving the efficiency of solar concentrating trough system and cosmically making use of concentrating PVT system.
