Abstract

There has been agenda in Kyoto protocol that one nation has to reduce certain amount of CO2 emission and green house gas emissions, as interests and concerns on the environment get higher. Life cycle assessment were developed to evaluate the environmental function of one building and estimate CO2 and green house gas emissions. Besides, as the number of high rise buildings is increasing over the globe, there have been great developments in construction technologies and structural systems. In high rise buildings, the structural system affects to the entire life cycle cost and gas emissions due to the change of the amount of materials used. This study is for suggesting Life Cycle Assessment to consider the optimum design of the structure. This study will be the fundamental study for developments of LCA methods in near future.
