Preliminary experimental study of solar aided heat pump system for domestic water heating, room cooling and heating was presented .By employing liquid desiccant system driven by heat pump condenser and solar energy to treat sensible load, the heat pump evaporating temperature could be raised while the condensing temperature increase was kept to minimal, which helps to improve the heat pump performance. In cold winter climate, the solar collector works as the thermal source of the heat pump, again improved the system performance.
