Abstract

The use of phase change energy storage materials, can decrease the fluctuation of indoor air temperature, increase thermal comfortable degree, and to some extent, reduce the energy consumption of heating and air conditioning of building, improve energy efficiency. In order to investigate the effect of the walls or pillars which added by phase change materials on the thermal comfort of the large traffic building in different areas, a set of numerical simulations using ENGPLUS software are designed. The effect of parameter of phase change materials such as wall construction, coefficient of thermal conductivity, wall thickness, temperature of phase transition and so on were researched in this paper. By means of numerical simulation, we can have some useful conclusions that how to reasonably use the phase change materials to build the large traffic buildings in different areas to improve the building energy efficiency and save investment.
