A model of water transport in a membrane electrode assembly (MEA) of a proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) is developed. The model takes into account the three transfer modes, diffusion, migration, convection and drags in the membrane phase and considers the membrane as a porous structure. The mathematical model is solved using finite element tool. In this paper we had calculated and discussed one dimensional distribution of water in the cell with and without porosity.
