Abstract

It presents a solar cooker concentration constructed from two scrap dish. Will be presented their manufacturing processes, assembly and results of tests performed to determine the focal temperature and cooking times of certain types of food. In preliminary tests achieved the maximum temperature of focus corresponding to 740 ° C. This solar cooker has great advantage as a small area of shadow on the reflector parabola formed by small pieces of flat mirrors, since their focus is outside the parabola. The solar cooker has extremely low manufacturing cost since it can be built with scrap materials, with the exception of the mirrors that cover the reflective surface of 0.28 m² for each antenna, having the total area of 0.6 m². This prototype may represent a major contribution towards the provision of solar cookers, especially in the Northeast, preferred over the solar potential, combating desertification, and emission of pollutants by the massive use of firewood, causing ecological imbalance in the region. Tests were performed with various foods such as macaxeira, inhame, potato, beans, rice, pasta with satisfactory results with respect to the cooking time of 50 min at most, can still be used as an oven for baking pizza, cake and barbecue.
