Abstract

Nigeria is the largest producer of onion in West Africa and Sokoto State in particular produces several tones of onions at every harvest season. However storage of the crop has been a problem and this has led to the study of the thermal behavior of clay room for the storage of onion. The transient heat transmission across various walls of an Adobe room using an Engineering Equation Solver (EES) software programme has been studied. It was found that predicted average hourly temperature has a root mean square of deviation of 0.122636 and that of predicted average relative humidity is 0.084158. Thus EES software could be use in predicting the indoor condition of an adobe room.
