Desertification is a problem significantly impacting economic, social, and environmental spheres of Uzbekistan. About 80% of the country territory is under deserts and semi-deserts that are under desertification threat. The desertification processes develop against the background of increasing water deficiency that negatively impacts sustainable development of Uzbekistan.
