Abstract

For indoor air pollution caused by pollutants emission of human metabolism and building material, characteristics of people response and assessment to indoor air quality were studied in one experimental auditorium. 143 Chinese subjects were chosen, including 94 males and 29 females serving as the occupants, 10 males and 10 females taking part as the visitors. During the experiment, all subjects were exposed to different carbon dioxide and total volatile organic compounds concentration and ventilation rate. Meanwhile, they voted on scales for acceptability of air quality and odor intensity.
