Abstract

Due to increase of wind energy penetration in power system, efficiency management scheme of wind energy is important part of relevant research area. Especially, comprehensive wind farm controller by considering characteristics of mechanical and aerodynamic is important section to increase efficiency of wind energy. To increase efficiency, several researches have been considered wake effect for wind farm control. By considering wake effect, optimized wind farm control can pass toward downstream more wind flow to increase total real power in wind farm. However, the complexity of exist wake model make the calculation difficult to system integration in real time bases. Therefore, those systems generally used simplified wake model, for example, N.O. Jenson model and so on. In aerodynamics, wake effect should be changed continuously during the phase of pitch angle or power coefficient change. Nevertheless, simplified wake model does not consider pitch angle or power coefficient. Therefore, this paper introduces novel wake effect to include those variables for exact analysis. The wind farm management system (WFMS) which is optimizing wind farm control is also introduced to increase efficiency and to decrease operating and maintenance costs. In wind farm, wind turbines which are located fist row against main wind direction usually generate more power than others, and should be expected higher operating and maintenance cost. To decrease those costs, proposed WFMS is to distribute wind turbine power equally by considering wake effect model. To consider the introduced wake effect model, the DFIG wind farm system control algorithm is configured by using Matlab.
