Telecommunication base stations (TBSs) are used in large numbers in china, and consume lots of energy every year. To make full use of natural outdoor cooling resources, a new energy-saving air conditioning is proposed. A fresh air heat exchanger, together with solar plates, is added into the system. At the same time, a new type insulating material is also utilized to avoid energy lost, so as to achieve the purpose of energy saving. In this paper, a new base design and the original three-dimensional mathematical model were established and computed at two different conditions, result in several flow field, temperature field as well as system load. The simulation results show that the new energy-saving air conditioning design enables the cold air flow directly to enter the equipments which need to be cooled, so that the temperature of the equipments within the target range, reducing air conditioning energy consumption, reaching energy-saving purpose.
