Abstract

Thin films of cobalt, chrome and black nickel were deposited on brass substrate by electroplating method. These Films due to the good optical properties are suitable for solar collectors. Surface morphology of prepared films is studied by Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) .The chemical composition of the films were analyzed using X-ray dispersion analysis (EDAX). Reflection spectrum of the deposited films in the region of UV-Vis-NIR and IR region are studied. Scanning Electron Microscope image analysis shows that films of black cobalt and black chrome are exhibiting porous structure while the black nickel coated films are smooth with fine structure. All Films are producing absorption as high as 90% and the emission observed is lower than 40%.
