Abstract

In this paper, a pre-feasibility study of using grid connected PV hybrid energy system with battery storage in İzmir is explained. A house having an energy consumption of 8.3kWh/d with a 2.9 kW peak power demands was considered as the stand-alone load. HOMER is used as a sizing and optimization tool. Sensitivity analysis with solar radiation level and temperature was done. It was found that a PV-battery hybrid system is not a suitable solution at present.

Keywords. PV based hybrid energy system; PV for residential application
