In this paper the water-ammonia cogeneration cycle was combined with a simple gas turbine to produce power and refrigeration. The combination was in such a way that, the energy of turbine exhaust gases are utilized to power the cogeneration cycle and the low grade part of the produced refrigeration in cogeneration cycle is used to cool the air entering the compressor of gas turbine. The results indicate a considerable increase in output power when the two cycles are combined. An increase of up to 25% in output power and 8.8% in thermal efficiency can be achieved. The results also reveal that the maximum power of combined cycle occurs at lower values of pressure ratio when compared to that of the gas turbine cycle; the point which can be accounted as an advantage from the view point of economics.
