Abstract

Triggered by the rapid consumption and accumulation problem of waste package cardboard in urban area, this thesis proposes to build a new material flowing scenario among urban paper consumption, livestock agriculture and architecture industry, in which cow dung brick building become a part of continuous urban matter recycling rather than the common end-consumer or potential pollution resource. According to this green design objective, the new manufacturing and assembly methods of cow dung bricks are researched so as to explode the potential dynamic geometry, self-balanced corbel structure and architecture prototype. At the same time, this new system is supposed to be easy, relative accurate and smart for construction operator in a manually way without advanced robotic aid and complex addictive framework. Related to the specific cow dung brick prototype, the architecture cluster is designed as the application of the farmer’s market. As an integrated green design strategy, a series of issues is discussed from macro-level such as the movement of matter, energy, information between urban and rural area to the micro elements like connection tectonics between cow dung bricks.
