Abstract

Solar energy is a kind of abundant, clear and inexhaustible new energy. Currently, building energy consumption occupies over 30% percent of the total energy consumption in China. So nowadays, BIPV has been widely applied in actual projects, but how these buildings work especially under potential earthquakes have still remained vague. Under this consideration, nonlinear analysis on seismic behavior of the PV module integrated shear walls are conducted in this research. Toughened glass, the main material of PV-module, is a kind of brittle material, and the connection of the PV module and the RC panel will chiefly influence the seismic behavior of the PV module integrated RC shear walls. So the usually used connection measures are evaluated based on the security of the earthquake. The general finite element analysis software—ABAQUS is employed in this investigation. The deformation, the damage pattern and the stress development of the solar panel are estimated by the static pushover analysis. The deformation limit of the solar panel under different performance state is also discussed according to Chinese design code. And the construction suggestion of the PV-module integrated shear walls are given based on the investigation.
