Abstract

A combined power system with solid oxide fuel cell(SOFC) and gas turbine(GT) which is fed by natural gas is presented in this paper. The simulating model of the system is used to analyze the performance of the power system. Effects of operating pressure and current density of SOFC on system performance are studied. It is found that increasing the operating pressure will increase SOFC power generation and improve the system efficiency in some range; on the other hand, the increase in current density of SOFC will decrease the power generation of SOFC stack and total system. Results show that the combined power system which is composed of SOFC and GT can achieve a power generation efficiency of more than 65%(LHV) and an energy utilization of more than 85%.
