Abstract

CO2 hydrate slurry is one of the newly developed secondary cooling fluids based on CO2, an inoffensive gas in combination of water under suitable pressure and temperature conditions. The new CO2 hydrate slurry production system was built. Solid mass fraction of CO2 hydrate slurry was determinated. The experimental results show that the density and apparent viscosity change can also be good indicators for the hydrate formation besides pressure and temperature. The pressure drops of CO2 hydrate slurry with different solid mass fraction on heat exchanger as function of steady flow mean velocities were presented and verified. The stability of CO2 hydrate slurry was examined. The local heat transfer coefficient of CO2 hydrate slurry on heat exchanger at steady state was obtained.
