Abstract

This paper focuses on the effect of different temperature on methane capacity and CO2 reduction potential of the anaerobic fermentation. Four anaerobic digesters of 10L capacity have been operated in batch mode at temperature of 19℃ , 30℃,37℃and52℃,respectively.Using the cattle manure as raw material, anaerobic sludge was collected from a biogas plant operated at 37℃.The effect of temperature on the biogas production rate and the contents of biogas have been studied. The results showed that the fermentation cycle was 22 days under 37℃, the volumetric biogas production rate was 0.76 m³/m³·d, the biogas production yield was 0.31 m³/㎏TS, and the average content of methane was 53.59%. Taking the biogas production of household biogas pool in the whole gansu province as a case, the annual emission reduction was 2.35×10⁷t.Thus, it can be made with a high potential for prodution methane and carbon dioxide emissions, great application and promotion value in rural areas, that the biogas production by anaerobic treatment from cattle manure at 37℃to replace the traditional energy supply.
